Sedona Public Library Director, Judy Poe, will be the featured speaker at the Tuesday, June 8, 2021 PFLAG Sedona/Verde Valley support meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom. Judy will discuss the Sedona Public Library’s vision, future plans and programs, including the possibility of having an LGBTQ related collection/section at the library.
Judy Poe has a Masters of Information and Library Science degree and became director of Sedona Public Library in January 2021, after serving as assistant director for the past two years. Prior to her move to Sedona, Judy managed the Yavapai Library Network, a public, academic, and school library consortium across Yavapai County. From 2009 to 2015 Judy held nearly every position possible at the Pine River Library in Bayfield, Colorado which was named Library Journal’s 2014 Best Small Library in America.
Raised in Pennsylvania, Judy has lived in Florida, North Carolina, Colorado, and New Mexico, before moving to Arizona in 2017. Judy’s volunteer experience also includes therapeutic horseback riding in North Carolina and she is one of the founders of Pine River Shares, a community-based leadership program sharing skills, knowledge, food, and other resources in the Pine River Valley, near Bayfield, Colorado.
