College Scholarships for LGBTQ Students

GLSEN – GLSEN advocates to make schools safer and more inclusive for both queer students and staff.

LGBT National Help Center – A list of hotlines and other resources for the queer community.

National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center – An excellent resource for healthcare providers, this site has numerous publications on how to become a more affirming provider for each part of our community.

LGBTQ Addiction Guide – A research-based awareness guide on a niche that is often overlooked – addiction in the LGBTQ community. Finding help with substance abuse is often more difficult for LGBTQ people, as many other obstacles are prevalent along with the fight with addiction – this in depth resource helps alleviate that stress by facilitating help in the form of useful information and support systems.

Substance Abuse and Cannabis Usage: Supporting and Affirming the LGBTQIA+ Community and Youth – An in-depth analysis of the complex relationship the queer community has with cannabis. Discussed in an affirming and non-biased way.

Monthly Support Meetings

We meet the second Tuesday of every month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m in The New Room of Sedona United Methodist Church (110 Indian Cliffs Road, Sedona) and on Zoom. A map is attached below.

Upcoming Meeting

We invite you to our next Support and Education meeting on Tuesday, September 8th, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Sedona United Methodist Church, New Room, located at 110 Indian Cliffs Road in Sedona. The meeting will include our annual election of PFLAG Sedona/Verde Valley Board members and officers.

The election of Board members and officers for the 2026/2027 fiscal year (October 1, 2026 – September 30, 2027). Note: PFLAG Sedona/Verde Valley members may nominate possible Board members and officers at the annual election meeting. Board members and officers who have been previously nominated are as follows:

After the election, we will do some group brainstorming regarding programs and speakers our PFLAG members and supporters would like to see at our monthly meetings in fiscal year 2026-27.
