Kim S. will be presenting her story at the Monday, January 12, 2015 PFLAG Sedona/Verde Valley support meeting at 7:00 p.m. at The Church of the Red Rocks in Sedona.
Kim had felt foreign in her own body for as long as she can remember. At thirteen, she approached counselors and they thought she was joking when she said she wanted to be a girl. At 19, she hoped her conversion to Evangelical Christianity would cure her. It did cure her more times than she can count and once the cure lasted two whole weeks! At 29, she dropped out of divinity school because she felt ineligible for ministry after corrective therapy did not work. Finally, after 40 years of trying to maintain her denial, she gave up and accepted herself. She lost all of her Christian friends, it killed her career, but she was her true self and living as a woman for the first time. She is not always happier for the journey, but she is authentic and living an authentic life as the woman she has always been.
You won’t want to miss this heartfelt presentation which will be held at The Church of the Red Rocks at 54 Bowstring Drive, Sedona, AZ in the Painted Cliffs Hall on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 7:00 pm. All are welcome!
