Please join us at our upcoming PFLAG Sedona/Verde Valley Support Meeting on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. at the Sedona Public Library (3250 White Bear Road, Sedona) and on Zoom. The Zoom link is noted below.
We are excited to have PFLAG Sedona/Verde Valley President, Rodney Turner, and PFLAG Sedona/Verde Valley Board member, Susan Turner, as our speakers. Rodney is in his second year as PFLAG President, and Susan joined the PFLAG board this year.
Rodney and Susan grew up together in Tecumseh, Michigan. (If you are wondering where that is – look at the southeast corner of your right hand – palm facing up.) Susan loved Rodney from afar. Rodney didn’t notice. So, they went on with their lives.
Rodney graduated from West Point Military Academy with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. After leaving the Army, he ultimately became a Financial Advisor. Susan went on to work in the non-profit world with a passion for hospice. She is the VP of Community Programs & Service for Accord Hospice & Palliative Care.
Rodney and Susan reconnected on Facebook after not seeing each other for 30 years and their love story began. Two people joining together a family of seven. Rodney and Susan will share what it is like to love their blended and diverse family of LGBTQ+ members and Allies and the blessings they share. Trials, tribulations, celebrations, and their proudest moments.
After the presentation, we will have our usual support group at 7:30 PM. As always, you may attend the first hour, second hour, or both.
